Mission Statement
To protect the people of the Nisqually Indian Community and preserve the natural resources, culture, and traditions.

The independent government of the Nisqually Indian Tribe operates its own justice system, which includes a comprehensive public safety department. The department is composed of three major divisions – Police, Corrections, and Fish and Wildlife.

Each division fulfills a needed service to the Nisqually people and our surrounding community. The men and women who serve in our law enforcement programs are dedicated to providing the Nisqually community with a safe place to live, work and go to school.

Police Department

The Police Department is responsible for enforcing the law on the Nisqually Reservation. We strive for public safety and ensure emergency response readiness. Similar to other police agencies elsewhere in the region, our primary mission is to protect the health and welfare of the community.
